Over 2025 i have made varied attempts to get into manufacturing, Planetary Interaction and seeding new Trade Locations for other Corporations / Alliances.
That has left assets strewn across the universe that would give my wife a run for her money in general untidiness. (you may deduce from this that my wife does not read my blog. i hope.).
And then there are a truck load of items redeemed from daily rewards sitting in hangers all over the place. Occasionally i have made an attempt to tidy up by putting them all in containers.
Some is worthless but over the year the assets lying around begins to add up.
This is an important point - items in inventory was once isk. The longer the item sits in inventory it deprives me of using the isk it could become to invest in the market to make more isk. This is call "opportunity cost" or think of it as an interest cost or cost of storage.
Jita remains my central warehouse
Life is easier if i store everything in Jita, preferably on one character.
That makes knowing where everything is a lot easier and that is a big time saver.
Therefore, as i did in December 2024, i am in the process of having all surplus items couriered back to Jita to be thrown in more containers for their fate to be decided.
But one thing is for sure, storing everything in Jita will mean i can convert it into isk very quickly (price may not be great) or more easily have it there to courier to another trade location to sell.
Some self couriering
For loads that come to less than 100m, i will courier them myself. So three trips i made: 1 purely in high sec; 2 others where half the leg was done in low sec with the final part in high sec.
Ships cluttering up the place
Less of an issue this year. So nothing for me to do here.
Cost of this tidy up
Not too much - i suspect around 1 billion in courier fees. But a good feeling to have a tidy up.
